Tinctures vs Capsules vs loose ground powder Supplements? Reality is ease of use and who it's for. I do tinctures mostly for humans and small pets that need more than a few different herbs to get the right dosage in them in the smallest economical dose. If you need 6 or more different herbs to help support menopause, high cholesterol, kidney function, gut health or whatever that's a lot of horse sized capsules to take daily ( like 6 or more high quality, no additives or preservatives actual freshly ground herbs) vs a 1 ml (30-40 drops) a dropper full of tincture. Compare that to a 15 - 30ml dose of an OTC nighttime cough and cold remedy. Good luck getting something like that in a horse 😂 I can hide several drops of glycerin based natural dewormer in a treat for a cat and a 1 tbsp of ground herb powder in wet dog food, 2 tbsp for a pet pig or a 1/3 cup of freshly ground herbs flavored with dehydrated apple fiber, peppermint, or carrot in feed for a horse. Tinctures do not taste great, roots in general just don't, but are easy enough to hide in a drink, since it's a very small and more concentrated quantity for an adult human. Alcohol based Tinctures are not the perfect option for our larger pets and so the dosage and presentation of herbs as a feed additive are different to fit the species and feeding plan to keep the dosage consistent by weight and volume
